White Water Rafting and Ziplining
On Saturday a group of us went white water rafting in the Pacuare river. The rapids were 3 to 4 and very very fun. If I had my way-I'd go white water rafting all the time.... Micah asked the guides what it took to become a guide, and they said that if he came down there and trained for a month and agreed to stay another two months to guide he could do it. Some other lifetime...that would be fantastic. The Pacuare river goes through a rain forest and is very beautiful... Jenna, Ja-Mes, Nicole, Cesare, Emma, and I were in one raft. Our guide was named TOASTY...AND...he had no idea that his name was English slang for being tipsy--he was very please to find that out. I don't have the pictures for that yet on my computer because they are being passed around the class and I have yet to get them-- I'll post a picture on the next entry.

On Sunday a group of us went on a Canopy tour-where you zip-line through the jungle way high up in the air. It in a "cloud forest" but the day we went it was not cloudy. There were 24 platforms and 18 lines. We wore a helmet and a very heavy harness system that clipped on and off of the lines. The last cable was 1/4 of a mile long and over 300 feet above the ground...super fun... I think this is the transportation system of the future...each city should have a really high tower with hundreds of ziplines going to different destinations.
